Direction: Surya Kiran
Duration: 2 hours 18 minutes
Surya (Surya Kiran) is madly in love with his collegemate Rashmi (Esther Noronha). As she is hailing from a poor family, the hero gets enough opportunities to impress her with his Good Samaritan acts. He earns her goodwill by helping her at crucial times. There is also a parallel love story; Surya's childhood friend Sahana (Divya) is already in love with him. The twist comes when Rashmi's mother dies after telling her not to marry Surya as they belonged to Devadasi community. But Surya has no second thoughts. He finds it hard to come into terms with reality and eventually loses his mental balance. The story turns dramatic when Sahana tells Rashmi about her feelings for Surya.
Said to be a real life story of the friend of director Surya Kiran, this love story offers nothing new. The director, who dons the role of the hero too, fails to impress audience in his debut venture. Unnecessary sequences and sudden twists are enough test the patience of viewers.
Surya Kiran should work hard and hone his acting skills. Esther Noronha has done justice to her role. Vidya impresses you with a gentle, but effective portrayal of a girl troubled by unrequited love. Music by Avinash and Sriram and camera work by Suresh Babu are noteworthy.
