Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 34 minutes

Rakshit Shetty of Simpalag Ond Love Story fame is experimental with the script and narration but fails to make a lasting impression on the audience.

Too many twists and turns make the plot convoluted, taking away from Ulidavaru Kandanthe's pleasant moments. In many sequences the background music drowns the dialogues, leaving the viewer dissatisfied. But kudos to the director for brilliantly capturing the culture of Mangalore and its surrounding areas.

The story begins with Regina (Sheetal Shetty), an investigative journalist, trying to get to the bottom of three murders. In the process, she comes across several people. We meet the sentimental Rathnakka (Tara), a fish seller waiting for her son to arrive for dinner with meenu saaru (rasam made with fish) and lovebirds Munna (Kishore), a boat repairer, and Sharada (Yagna Shetty), a tiger dance from Mangalore. There's more to the plot as underworld connections come to the fore.

Rakshith Shetty is impressive but for his dialogue delivery which is not very comprehensive. Sheetal Shetty steals the show as the scholarly journalist. Full marks to her for expressions. Tara weaves a magic of her own in the sentimental sequence. Karam Chawla's cinematography is spellbinding. Ajanish's soulful music leaves viewers asking for more.
