Chitramandiradalli Kannada Movie Review

An experimental film by director Venkatachala is about life in bangalore especially in theatres. Few scenes are shot inside the theatre and represented in the form of three shades of a persons life, Shekar the male lead has built his physique for his role and t.v serial artist Namitha from 'silli lalli' fame is back to acting after a long gap. It's not a typical love story claims director, that its different from other films. The posters and overview definitely proves it.

Director:- C N Venkatachala
Music Director:- Praveen D Rao
Editor:- Ravi
Starring:- Shankar Aryan, Namitha

It's a good show by director Venkatachala. With a good script, he keeps the narration interesting with a simple story that happens in a rural background. In the first half, we see two stories woven into one without confusing the audience. Perhaps, the director could have focused more on the climax for a good end.

It's all about a young boy - Ullas (Shankar Aryan) - who dreams of becoming a film director. He takes his script to a producer (Mimicry Gopi) and reads it. But the producer sleeps off during the reading. Ullas' parents are shocked when they come to know that their son, who suffers from meningitis, has just two more days of life. A depressed Ullas goes to a theatre that screens Shankar Nag's movie Sangliana. As one among the audience, he imagines his story on the big screen. It is about a villager Bhyranna (Ullas) who is caught in the web of supari killers and faces murder charges. In the second half, we see Ullas narrating his romance with Anu (Namitha Rao) through drawings. The producer is very much impressed and tells him that he would help him direct this story. And it is a dream come true for Ullas.

Shankar Aryan is at his best, especially as Bhiranna. He has done wonderful job throughout the movie. Namitha who comes for a while is impressive. Pravin D Rao's music score is good. Camera by Vinod Bharathi is appealing.
